The North Louisiana Division of March of Dimes Foundation would like to
introduce its newest fundraising event: Spotlight on Success. This event is
the networking young professional’s delight because it pays tribute to
twenty outstanding young professionals and future community leaders in
Shreveport-Bossier City.
Spotlight on Success will be held on October 29, 2009, on the roof top at
Boomtown Casino. Beginning September 1, 2009, at Boomtown’s 1800 Prime, a
local restaurant or happy hour night spot will host networking socials for
the honorees, their guests, and young professionals in the community.
Funds raised by this event will be dedicated to supporting essential March
of Dimes efforts in research, education, community outreach, and pre-natal
care to continue March of Dimes’ historic journey of being a leader in the
fight for healthy children.
We invite you to participate in Spotlight on Success by nominating a young
professional within your organization to be “Spotlighted,” partnering with
March of Dimes to host the event, purchasing tables of 8 for $500 and
tickets at $75 per person to the event, or donating goods or services to our
auction packages.

What is Spotlight on Success?
Spotlight on Success is the newest fundraising event in Northwest Louisiana
benefiting March of Dimes. This event is the networking young professional’s
delight because the event pays tribute to twenty outstanding young
professionals and future community leaders in Northwest Louisiana. The
Spotlight on Success gala will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2009, on the
roof top at Boomtown Casino with entertainment to be provided by
internationally-known 80’s cover band, The Molly Ringwalds.
On Tuesday, September 1, 2009, March of Dimes will introduce Spotlight on
Success to Shreveport and Bossier City by hosting a networking social at
Boomtown Casino and Hotel’s premier restaurant, 1800 Prime. During this
social, applications, information, and nominating forms will be available
for those young professionals interested in “spotlighting” their
accomplishments.
After the kick-off social, additional socials will be held each week at
local venues such as Superior Steakhouse, The Phoenix Underground, Celebrity
Lounge, Sand Bar, and many others! These socials are an excellent
opportunity to network with Spotlight Honorees and other young professionals
while coming together as a community to ensure that all babies have a
healthy start to life.
The Spotlight on Success Gala will take place on Thursday, October 29, 2009.
The rooftop doors of Boomtown Casino open at 6pm with cocktails and hors
d’oeuvres. Five complimentary complementary cocktail vouchers accompany
every individual ticket purchased.
At 7pm, the Spotlighting program will begin and will be emceed by Erin
Bristol from K94.5 and Robert J. Wright from KVKI. During the program, each
honoree will be introduced and have the opportunity to walk the “Spotlight
Catwalk” to an amazing lights show provided by Gumbeaux Productions and the
song of their choice. During the program, Erin and Robert will talk about
each honoree, their accomplishments, and contributions to the community as
well as March of Dimes.
After the honorees walk the catwalk, they will have the opportunity to talk
about why they chose to get involved with the March of Dimes and the auction
package that they have put together for the event. To support the March of
Dimes, each honoree is being asked to assemble an auction package
representing their interests by securing donations from their favorite
places. The honoree whose package auctions for the highest amount will
receive tickets for 2 to the November 14, 2009, LSU Homecoming Game at Tiger
Stadium in Baton Rouge against Louisiana Tech University and hotel
accommodations for the game.
During the program, Celebrity Bartender Michael “PC” Maguire will showcase
our signature Spotlight Martini, which will come in its own glowing martini
glass souvenir. Maguire, who can be found locally behind the bar at Blind
Tiger and Sand Bar, has won both local and international bartending
competitions and will be showing off his talents and tricks for the
Spotlight honorees and guests.
At 8:30pm, our guests will be able to enjoy bidding on our auction packages
provided by the Spotlight Honorees while being entertained by a private
performance of internationally-popular 80’s cover band The Molly Ringwalds.
